Trade and services are the most rapid and dynamic growing sectors of economy in NKR, which is due to the accelerated privatization process in this sector, market demand, investments made and fast reimbursement. The 2011 main indices of retail sales and services provided to the population are as follows: according to the reports and supplementary calculations of the shadow economy of 2011 the consumer market accounted for AMD 114,4 billion against 2010, increase by 7.5%. Moreover, 83,4% of the consumer market accounted for retail sales and 17,3% for the services provided to the population. This is confirmed by the responsible person of the sector, chief economist of the National Statistical Service of NKR Anahit Avagyan. The level of trade turnover varies from region to region in NKR, which is mainly conditioned by the number of retail facilities and population, as well as different levels of purchasing power demand and distribution of means of communication linking foreign markets. 76,7% of the trade turnover in 2011 was contributed by the capital, 7,7% by Martuni, 4,4% by Martakert, 4,3% by Askeran, 3,5% by Hadrut. In 2011 the general share of the services provided to the population in the Republic by the actual prices accounted for AMD 18,9 billion, which increased by 8.3% against 2010. 2.4% increase was recorded in the prices of services provided to the population in 2011 against 2010, which was mainly due to the increase in the prices of services: repair of household appliances and items of personal use – 20.5%, healthcare – 15.8%, finances – 15.1%, transport – 5% and education 4.1%.
